This week we started our new English unit all about Pokemon.
We ABSOLUTELY love it!
This is our report …
Pikachu is a species of Pokémon in the electric type. What a friendly Pokémon they are! However, if threatened or angered, they can be quite aggressive. Do you want to know more? If so read on!
What does Pikachu look like?
Pikachu is a short, chubby rodent that is covered in yellow fur with two horizontal stripes on its back. It has a minuscule mouth and long, pointed ears with black tips. Pikachu has stump like arms and three toes on each foot. At the base of its lightning bolt-shaped tail is patch of brown fur. Incredibly, there are pouches inside its rosy, red cheeks where it stores electricity.
What is Pikachu’s habitat like and what does it eat?
At times Pikachu travel in groups. It raises its tail to check its surroundings and is occasionally struck by lightning in this position. Living in forested places, Pikachu can be found hunting for berries which it roasts with electricity. Funnily enough, Pikachu has been known to have a fondness of ketchup and has been spotted eating telephone wires.
What are Pikachu’s special powers?
Pikachu is able to release high voltages of electricity. It has many types of attacks including thunderbolt, rocket punch and volt tackle. Weirdly, Pikachu can electrify itself to use its signature move the Volt Tackle.
Did you know?
Pikachu will evolve into a Raichu when it has come into contact with a Thunderstone.
We have explored and painted our own Pokemon too. We will plan and write our own adapted reports based on these Pokemon.
Today we had a go at 11 club. This is done throughout the whole school. It starts at 11 club then progresses to 22 club, 33 club and so on. The children have 4 minutes to complete 11, 22, 33 etc number sentences. They ALL have to be correct to become part of the club. Well done to those children who got their badge today. Don’t worry those who didn’t this time. We will try again in two weeks time. TOP TIP – Practice your doubling!
