This week we have had a very busy storytelling enrichment week.It started on Monday, with a rather peculiar trail of breadcrumbs leading from Miss Beebee’s cupboard out, across the field, to the forest school area.  Once we got there Sam found a letter from Hansel, asking Miss Beebee to tell us the story of Hansel and Gretel.  It also said that there was a surprise in Mrs Strachan’s cupboard.  We all sat on the logs to hear the story before coming inside to find an amazing picture of the gingerbread house.  We also found a book version of the story and the DVD of the St Matthew’s production of Hansel and Gretel in 2013.On Tuesday we had a real treat and had John in to come and tell us a story.  He told us a really funny story about an alien who wanted to invade the world and was set challenges to complete.  We then heard a story that some of us recognised about a hare and a tortoise. We also had forest school on Monday, where we did some descriptive writing.  We tried to describe the trees in a scary way.  Here are some shots of us in action:

Since then we have been learning to tell the story of Hansel and Gretel ourselves and doing some drama to help us understand the story better.  Here are some pictures of our freeze frames:
