Welcome to Year 4.  Throughout this year we cover a range of exciting topics, that we explore in detail.  We look at topics such as the Groovy Greeks, local history and contrasting localities like the seaside.  These topics are thoroughly enjoyable, and allow the children to explore a wide variety of time periods and locations through many different subjects at school.

In Year 4, reading is very important to us, and forms a core part of our day.  We all have a focussed guided reading session once a week, where we learn the skills to help us understand what we are reading.  During these sessions we look at a great range of texts, to help us gain a better understanding of the kinds of books that we personally enjoy.  To help them make the most of their sessions the children have personalised learning targets which help them achieve their full potential.  These targets are for Reading, Writing and Maths.
