Half term already seems like a distant memory, and the children have come back raring to go. This week has been all story telling in Beech Class with a sprinkle of glitter. The children have been discussing Little Red Riding Hood and delving deeper into the main characters. They have been writing character profiles and looking at the story from different perspectives. We have been lucky enough to have had two visitors to our class this week. On Tuesday we watched a story teller perform his take on the 3 little pigs, entitled 3 Wiseman and the Alien! The children were fully engaged and were involved in acting out the whole story. They created the stage and backdrop, played different characters and made props to retell the story. I am sure it will have a positive impact on the children’s creative writing. On Thursday Stroud artist Alex Berry visited the school to help the children make lanterns ready for the Goodwill evening. The children had a fantastic time using willow to sculpt the lanterns, once again on an alien theme! Alex is hoping that the children will bring them to the Stroud Goodwill Evening on the 4th December and take part in the parade through Stroud. The theme this year is space, hence our alien lanterns.Next Thursday we are hoping to showcase our Titanic Dioramas so I hope I will see some of you there. Here are some photos of our week.
